The Marathon Community United Methodist Church Relay for Life Team
The team continues its tradition of the spring yard sale which will be held on Friday, February 21 from 8am -5pm and on Saturday, February 22 from 8am- 1pm in the front of the church Come browse thru our “treasures” and find your “gem”….This is one of our biggest fundraisers for Relay For Life. All donations greatly appreciated up until and during the sale.
The ever popular Pasta & Meatballs Luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 16th at noon till 1:30pm in the church fellowship hall. Back by demand is the Create Your Own Salad Bar ! Yummy desserts round out the meal. All you can eat for just $5 and desserts just a dollar more. All donations support the team’s Relay For Life efforts!
The Relay for Life team will be rockin round the clock in rocking chairs to raise funds and awareness of the fight for the cure for cancer. The event will be held at Marathon Publix from 8am till 8pm on Saturday, February 15th. All donations collected will support the American Cancer Society. Come stop by and support our team as we rock to help create a world with more birthdays and contribute to finishing the fight!
Leaving the 8am Sunday service hungry? Coming to the 11 oclock Sunday service without breakfast? Then join us in the church fellowship hall for a delicious Sunday Brunch between the services. Sunday, January 19th from 9:15am till 10:45am . Your $5 donation helps our relay for life team continue our support of the American Cancer Society Fight for a Cure.
Do you need a special gift for the holidays? No time to bake this season? Let US bake for YOU! The Relay for Life team is baking cookies and making homemade fudge , wrapped up with lots of TLC on a nice holiday platter that is perfect for gift giving or simply enjoying yourself! Orders are being taken by Relay Team Members ….just $5 per plate! Orders are available for pickup at the December Luncheon on Sunday, December 15th at 11:30. Additional cookie plates will be available for sale that day. Our luncheon will warm our spirits : Chili ( 3 different kinds) and cornbread…all you can eat for $5. As always, yummy desserts are also available for an additional dollar. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society fight for a cure !
The first Luncheon of the Relay for Life season kicks off on Sunday, November 24 in the church fellowship hall 11am until 1pm…Among the many salads available will be egg, tuna, chicken , ceasar, tossed, as well as some specialty salads. Cost is only $5 with all proceeds going directly to Relay for Life. Delicious desserts and ice cream will also be available for a dollar.
The annual fall yard sale will be held at the church parking area on Friday, November 15th from 8am till 5pm and continuing Saturday, November 16th from 8am till 1pm. As in past years, this is one of our team’s biggest fundraisers for Relay! Many treasures await the curious browser so we hope you will stop by and find something you’ve been searching for! Our Relay for Life team is looking forward to seeing you at an Ice Cream Social in our church fellowship hall on Saturday, October 26th at 7:00 pm. This will be our first event to kickoff the fundraising season…There will be great flavors and toppings and good fellowship! The cost is whatever you would care to donate.
The date for the Middle Keys Relay for Life event has been set. We will be walking for a 12 hour period, from Friday April 4th starting at 6:00 PM and going until Saturday April 5th at 6:00 AM. A signup sheet for walking times and booth times will be put together once the event is closer.
Welcome to a new Relay for Life season! We’re looking forward to a great year, with a lot of fun and fundraising. We raised over $5000 for cancer research last season, and are expecting to exceed that goal this year.
This website is a new resource for our team to keep in touch with each other and get information about our upcoming events. It is very much a work in progress, and there will be changes coming. Currently, we have a calendar of events and this blog space. It will continue to improve as the year goes on and we get more materials online.
Our captain this year is Pam Stringfellow, and she will be hosting a kick off event at her house on Sunday, September 29. For details, check the upcoming events section on the home page. You can click on the calendar event listed there to get more information.
